The Israel Film Fund can invest only in Feature Films which comply with the definition of an “Israeli Feature Film” as specified in the “New Cinema Law” passed in 2001.
According to this law, the film has to comply with the following criteria:
With Countries with which Israel has an official co-production agreement in place, the rules, regulations and the conditions as set and specified in the agreement will prevail and overrule the above mentioned points 1, 2 & 3.
International co-productions are of great importance to the Israel film industry in terms of creating international co-operation and partnerships, in creating better production conditions, in stimulating a creative atmosphere and in terms of budget allocation.
